Shell damage suffered by HMS Warspite at Jutland
A close view at roughly forecastle deck level of the aft end of the hull on port side, showing damage suffered by HMS Warspite (1913) on 31 May 1916 during the Battle of Jutland. The hole in the upper deck plating was caused by a 12 inch shell. For a closer view of the superficial damage done to 'X' turret by a 5.9 inch shell, see N16492.
