Royal Marines parading on deck

A view of the Royal Marine contingent forming up for parade aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913), with officers in the foreground. The photograph was taken on the starboard side of the forecastle deck roughly abreast the mainmast, looking forward. The Marines are at 'stand easy' facing inwards towards the funnels. Of the officers in the foreground,only four have been identified. In the centre of the picture is Captain H K Stephens RMA. Behind him to the right and facing the camera is Lieutenant D A C Shephard RM. To the right and abreast of Stephens is Lieutenant Commander W H Hatcher RNR, while to the extreme right standing next to the guardrail and with his back to the camera is Lieutenant F W Craven.
