The view is from Queen Elizabeth's forward superstructure, looking forward over her forecastle deck. Warspite's 15-inch guns are trained out to starboard indicating that gunnery training is about to take place and the ship has just executed a sharp turn to port, deploying with her squadron mates from line into column.
