5th Battle Squadron at sea
A port quarter view of the Queen Elizabeth class battleship HMS Warspite (1913), taken from her sister HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913). The view is from Queen Elizabeth's forward superstructure, looking forward over her forecastle deck. Warspite's 15-inch guns are trained out on the starboard bow and the ship is executing a sharp turn to port. The small ship in the distance to the right appears to be a destroyer flotilla leader. This image may be part of a sequence taken on the same day, comprising negatives N16629 to N16634 inclusive, and N16636.
