2nd Battle Squadron at sea

A view of battleships of the Grand Fleet at sea circa 1916. In the foreground to the left is the Queen Elizabeth class battleship HMS Valiant (1914). The lines of battleships beyond comprise the 1st and 2nd Divisions of the Second Battle Squadron. The 2nd Division ships (the three Orion class battleships) are just beyond Valiant, while the vessels furthest away (the three King George V class battleships and HMS Erin) are those of the 1st Division. The five attendant destroyers are too distant to be identified.
