Midshipmen and Sub-Lieutenants

A group photograph of the Midshipmen and Sub-Lieutenants of HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913). The photograph was taken on the port side of the upper deck abreast 'X' turret's barbette. Seated in the front row from left to right are Midshipman Alan C F Bruce, Midshipman John L F Hunt, Midshipman Donald Murdoch, Midshipman Timothy F Turner and Midshipman Alfred S Russell. Standing behind them from left to right are Midshipman Gerald M B Langley, Midshipman Philip M Kitwood, Midshipman William W Jacomb, Lieutenant Hugh B Deedes, Midshipman Cyril H C Matthey DSC, Midshipman Geoffrey M D Maltby and Sub-Lieutenant Sidney L Manson. In the third row from left to right are Midshipman Hugh Dixon, Sub Lieutenant Edward C Bindloss, an unidentified Midshipman, an unidentified Lieutenant, Sub-Lieutenant Frank A Single and Midshipman William G. Jack. There are four individuals behind these groups, one of whom is standing and the rest are perched on the edge of the forecastle deck near the barbette. From left to right these are Midshipman Russell Bolingbroke, Midshipman Ralph W K Twinberrow, Midshipman Owen G Ommaney and Midshipman maurice McC Church.
