The "Ventilation Committee"
Staff Surgeon A D Cowburn RNVR and a leading seaman, photographed on the port side of HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913)'s forecastle deck just forward of 'X' turret's barbette. The ironic title of the image and the working rig worn by the Staff Surgeon suggests they are inspecting the ventilation cowls, four of which are visible in the picture. The superstructure of another Queen Elizabeth class battleship can be seen in the background to the right of the two men.
