Midshipmen and Lieutenants

A group photograph of the Midshipmen and four Lieutenants of HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913). The photograph was taken on the port side of the upper deck abreast 'X' turret's barbette. Seated on deck in the front row are (from left to right) Midshipman Alan C F Bruce, Midshipman John L F Hunt, Midshipman Donald Murdoch, Midshipman Timothy F Turner and Midshipman Alfred S Russell. Standing behind them in a staggered line are (from left to right) Midshipman Gerald M B Langley, Assistant Clerk Donald R G Allen, Midshipman Hugh Dixon DSC, Midshipman Philip M Kitwood, Midshipman William W Jacomb, Lieutenant Hugh B Deedes, Midshipman Cyril H C Matthey DSC, Midshipman Geoffrey M D Maltby, Midshipman Frank A Single, Sub-Lieutenant Sidney L Manson and Midshipman William G. Jack. Immediately behind the second row are (from left to right) Sub-Lieutenant Edward C Bindloss, Sub-Lieutenant Lawrence F Foley and Midshipman Cecil E C Robinson. Perched on the upper part of the ladder leading up to the shelter deck are (from left to right) Midshipman Russell Bolingbroke, Midshipman Ralph W K Twinberrow, Midshipman Owen G Ommaney and Midshipman Maurice McC Church.
