1st and 3rd Cruiser Squadrons at Scapa Flow
A starboard near beam view of the Acheron class destroyer HMS Oak (1912) under way at speed in Scapa Flow. Beyond her to the right are the ships of the 3rd Cruiser Squadron, comprising (from nearest to furthest) HMS Antrim (1903), HMS Roxburgh (1904) and HMS Devonshire (1904). In the distance to the left are two ships of the 1st Cruiser Squadron, probably HMS Duke of Edinburgh (1904) and HMS Black Prince (1904). Another cruiser from this squadron -either HMS Defence (1907) or HMS Warrior (1905) - is just visible beyond HMS Oak's stern, but is impossible to identify at this distance.
