The 5th Battle Squadron at sea
A view from the upper deck of HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913), looking forward from the starboard side. The photograph was taken from the break of the forecastle roughly abreast the mainmast, and the aftermost 6-inch gun can be seen projecting from its casemate beyond a stowed rope ladder. Immediately ahead of Queen Elizabeth is her sister HMS Barham (1915) following another battleship of the Queen Elizabeth class. The squadron is steaming in line ahead and is executing a turn to starboard.
