The Grand Fleet
A view of various ships of the Grand Fleet, taken from the port side of the aft end of the upper deck, roughly abreast 'Y' turret of HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913). In the foreground is her sister ship HMS Valiant (1914). The ship just visible beyond Valiant's bow appears to be a battleship of the King Edward VII class. The remaining ships beyond the latter are (from left to right) a battlecruiser of the Indefatigable class, the Iron Duke class battleship HMS Marlborough (1912) and HMS Agincourt (1914). The formations represented by these ships are the 6th Division of the 1st Battle Squadron, 3rd Battle Squadron, 5th Battle Squadron and the Second Battlecruiser Squadron.
