The Grand Fleet
Ships of the Grand Fleet at anchor in Scapa Flow. The battleships clearly visible in the foreground are (from left to right) a Bellerophon or St Vincent class ship, a Queen Elizabeth class ship, a Colossus class ship, HMS Neptune (1909), a Colossus class ship, two more Bellerophon or St Vincent class ships, and another Queen Elizabeth class ship. Although most are too distant to be identified by name, collectively these vessels indicate the presence of the 1st, 4th and 5th Battle Squadrons in the anchorage. A pair of drifters can be seen in the foreground and above and behind them a kite balloon is being streamed from one of the battleships. The dark hulled ship to the right is either a stores vessel [not Borodino (1911)] or a collier.
