The 5th Battle Squadron at sea
A view from the starboard side of the forecastle deck of HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913), taken from above the 6-inch casemates. The barrel of the starboard 6-inch forecastle deck mounting can be seen to the right, as can an accommodation ladder which appears to have been hurriedly lashed to the guardrail near the leadsman's platform. The picture is dominated by a Queen Elizabeth class battleship under way with her turrets trained on the starboard quarter. HMS Queen Elizabeth has just executed a turn to starboard and her squadron mate is following in her wake.
