The Grand Fleet in Scapa Flow
A panoramic view of ships of the Grand Fleet at anchor in Scapa Flow. The ships which appear in the picture are from left to right are HMS Birkenhead (1915), two light cruisers of the Arethusa or Caroline class, two (very distant) battleships of the Iron Duke class, HMS Barham (1914) with another Queen Elizabeth class battleship behind her, a battleship of the Bellerophon class with a collier in the foreground, and HMS Dreadnought (1906) with only her after part in view.
The photograph was taken from the starboard side of the forecastle deck of HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913), just forward of the 6-inch casemates.
