HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913)

Staff Surgeon Arthur D. Cowburn RNVR being piped aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913) as he reaches the head of the accommodation ladder. He is dressed for sailing and is wearing a Gieve's waistcoat [lifejacket] having just taken part in a Regatta event. The mast and sail just beyond him likely belong to the boat he has just left.

This photograph was taken on the port side of the forecastle deck roughly abreast the mainmast.
