HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913)
A view aft down the port side of the forecastle deck of the battleship HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913) from roughly abreast the funnels. In the foreground is the copula for the portside torpedo director position. Near it is the 3-inch anti-aircraft gun mounting, with the barrel elevated to the vertical position. A hose lying on the deck just behind this gun is discharging steam. In the background to the left of the gun's elevated barrel are some of the ship's boats, and beyond them the rear part of 'X' turret which is trained to starboard. Between the boats and the guardrail is the portside 6-inch mounting, with the gun's breech facing the camera and the mast of an unidentified battleship visible above the gun shield.
