Ship's seal
A brass seal with an ebony handle of the P & O ship SS 'Australia'. The seal shows the P & O rising sun crest. Inscription: 'PENINSULAR & ORIENTAL STEAM NAVIGATION COMPANY', 'S.S. AUSTRALIA'. There were two vessels of this name owned by P & O, launched respectively in 1870 and 1892.
