Watch in silver case. Thirty hour duration, single train, gilt brass, keyless movement with club-tooth lever escapement of ordinary quality. Uncut screwed balance with flat spiral white metal balance spring and adjustable index, engraved with 'F S' and 'A R'. Jewelled balance pivots, impulse pin and pallets (total seven jewels). Gold-covered winding crown and hand-set push piece at XI. Flat white enamel dial with black Roman hour numerals and minute circle. Subsidiary seconds dial with Arabic ten seconds numerals and seconds circle. Blued-steel spade and poker hands with counterbalanced seconds hand. Convex 'unbreakable' (plastic) 'glass' over dial. Open face silver case with engine-turned back with central reserve. Dome engraved with 'TRAINING SHIP EXMOUTH Presented to S. BEVAN for the Best Boy in Cooking June 27th 1908'. Stamped inside back and dome, incuse '0.935', with rampant bear cameo marks for Swiss-made silver goods 1893-1934. Stamped inside back with '118147' with scratched marks '(?)151' and '5(?)180'. Stamped inside dome with '118173'. Silver pendant and plain bow. Pendant having rampant bear cameo mark. Bow stamped incuse with 'R F'.
