Pocket watch in 18ct gold case. Thirty hour duration, four pillar, gilt brass, ¾ plate keyless centre seconds movement with table roller, ratchet tooth, lever escapement. Compensation balance with spiral blued-steel balance spring with overcoil. Train jewelled to the centre with screwed chatons. Balance cock engraved with 'FAST' and 'SLOW' with scroll-engraved foot. Upper plate engraved with 'J Levenberg & Co LONDON & CAPE TOWN.' Stop piece acting on the balance operated by a slide in the band at II. Gold-covered winding crown. Two piece white enamel dial with raised chapter ring. Roman hour numerals, minute circle, Arabic 1/5th seconds circle marked in intervals of 25. Gold spade and poker hands with blued-steel counterbalanced centre seconds hand. Signed in dial centre with the name 'J. LEVENBERG & Co.' and 'LONDON & CAPE TOWN'. Open face 18ct gold case, hallmarked 'Chester 1900-1901' with makers cameo stamp 'J.H'. Stamped inside dome with '6' and '78081'. Scratched '4160', '3/11' and '3656'. Dome engraved with the words 'G. Elbrow from his SIMON'S TOWN FRIENDS. 25, 3, 03.' Stamped inside back with '830', '6' and '81'. Scratched with 'W313742E 23/6/25', '4163', '561S8', '#5820', '#6389' and '20584nw'. Hand set push-piece in band at I. Plain gold pendant and bow, both stamped with standard cameo marks for 18ct gold. Pendant stamped on reverse cameo 'CH'. Slightly convex glass over dial. 9ct gold graduated curb link chain with T bar, sprung swivel catch and swivelling compass fob with solidified curb link frame. Swivel catch, all curb links, T bar and fob all stamped with standard cameo marks for 9ct gold. Other illegible marks to catch. T bar stamped with makers cameo mark 'P&M(?)'. Fob hallmarked with date letter for Birmingham 1900-1901 and makers mark 'WHH'.
