Watch in gilt metal and under painted horn, pair case. Thirty hour duration, single train, gilt brass, four pillar fusee movement with verge escapement. Flat steel balance with flat spiral balance spring. Pierced and engraved balance cock. Tompion style regulator with a silver regulating disc engraved with Arabic numerals 1 to 6. Potence plate engraved with 'Jno Denton', 'London' and '7700'. Convex white enamel dial with Arabic hour numerals and dot minute markers. Gold beetle and poker hands. Gilt metal pair case with stepped gilt metal pendant and flat stirrup bow. Under painted horn and brass pinwork covered outer case with painted fern decoration. Gilt metal edges. Engraved on back of inner case with the name 'CAPT T.M.HARDY. R.N.'. The bow is a later replacement. The glass and fusee chain are missing.
