Watch in silver case. Thirty hour duration, single train, frosted nickel plated brass, keyless movement with club-tooth, jewelled lever escapement. Uncut bimetallic balance with blued-steel spiral balance spring with overcoil. Polished steel index. Balance cock engraved with the words 'Fast' and 'Slow'. Train jewelled to the third wheel. Brass winding crown. Hand set push-piece at XI. Flat white enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, minute circle and diamond shaped quarter marks. Sunk subsidiary seconds dial with Arabic ten seconds numerals and seconds circle. Blued-steel spade and poker hands with blued-steel counterbalanced seconds hand. Open face silver case stamped inside back and dome, incuse with '0.935' and '29644' with standard mark for Swiss silver goods made between 1893 and 1934. Scratched inside back with '1145 AE', 'X6913', 'W,C.S. 10/53' and '11/99 £' (or 'F'). Scratched inside dome with '183G', 'w h' and '4198WW(?)'. Engraved on dome with the words 'TRAINING SHIP 'EXMOUTH' Presented to J. MOORE by SIR E. H. GALSWORTHY J P.D L for Special Good Conduct and Ability 29th June, 1895'. Plain silver pendant and plain bow. Convex 'unbreakable' (plastic) 'glass' over dial.
