Pocket watch in gold hunter case. Thirty hour duration, single train, gilt brass, capped four pillar fusee movement with verge escapement. Polished steel five-arm balance with blued-steel, flat spiral balance spring. Engraved balance cock with a grotesque mask and ruby endstone in polished steel setting. Bosley regulator engraved on the potence plate with '1-5', 'SLOW' and 'FAST'. Engraved on the barrel bridge with the words 'MANNERS', 'London' and the number '3666'. Gilt brass cap, stamped inside, incuse with the letters 'L F'. Convex white enamel dial with Roman hour numerals and minute circle. Winding through the dial near 4 o'clock. Base metal spade and poker hands. 18ct gold hunter case hallmarked 'London 1812-1813' with makers incuse stamp 'I R' and the letters 'P' and 'S'. Oval section gold pendant with stirrup bow. Convex glass over dial. The hands are possible replacements. The watch reputedly belonged to Rear-Admiral John Pascoe (1774-1853), who at that time was employed as a signal officer at the Battle of Trafalgar.
