Brooch

Oval gold brooch, the brooch contains a lock of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson's (1758-1805) hair. The brooch comes complete with a pin attachment. The lock of hair is contained within the centre of the brooch and is surrounded by a border executed in black enamel. The black enamel border of the brooch is inscribed in gold 'ENGLAND EXPECTS EVERY MAN TO DO HIS DUTY'. The back of the brooch is inscribed with the words 'NELSON 21 OCT 1805'.
