House flag, P&O Nedlloyd
The house flag of P&O Nedlloyd. Design: the flag is divided horizontally ¼ of the way down from the top. The upper portion is divided vertically blue and orange. On the blue section ‘P&O’ in white letters and on the orange ‘Nedlloyd’ in blue. The lower part divided orange and blue. The flag is made of synthetic fibre bunting and is machine sewn; the design is printed. A cord is attached. P&O Nedlloyd
In 1970 various Dutch companies joined to form Nederlandsche Scheepvaart Unie to prepare for containerisation. In 1977 the conglomerate was renamed the Royal Nedlloyd Group of which Nedlloyd Lines the ocean shipping arm. During 1966 the company merged with P&O containers to form P&O Nedlloyd. During 1996 the company acquired Blue Star’s container shipping business. 2004-P&O’s stake was bought out by Royal Nedlloyd NV and the firm is now known as Royal P&O Nedlloyd NV.
