Mortar, 10in
Iron muzzleloading smoothbore mortar on carriage. Calibre: 10in. Marks: 18-0-6 (weight in cwts, qrts and lbs) 1856. Mortars were carried in bomb vessels and fired explosive shells 1600 yards at 45 degrees elevation. These shells were detonated by a slow burning fuze lit before the mortar was fired.
