Iron muzzleloading smoothbore 32-pdr gun mounted on wooden garrison carriage with 4 iron trucks. Calibre: 6.25in. Marks: 'VR cypher 5315 arrow 59-0-0' (weight in cwts, qrts and lbs) on barrel. C V N C on cascabel. 'LOW MOOR 9033 1859' on left trunnion. These guns fired solid round shot of 32lb, or the equivalent in multiple grape and case shot. Range depended on the elevation of the gun and on the weight of the gunpowder charge. Point blank (with no elevation) and 10lb of powder gave 350 yards, while 10 degrees of elevation gave 2,800 yards.
