Gun, 3pdr Quick-firer ?
Brass breechloading rifled 3-pdr quick-firer gun. Calibre:2in. Marks: Engraved: This gun formed part of Chinese Destroyer captured by HMS FAME and HMS WHITING, TAKU 1900. There is an account of the capture of the four Chinese destroyers published in 'A History of the Royal Navy from the earliest times 1857–1900' by Laird Clowes (pub 1900) by the commander of HMS WHITING, Lieutenant Keyes. He refers to ammunition for Q.F. guns being found on the the deck of two of the Chinese destroyers.
