Trinity House Ensign
A Trinity house Red Ensign. The design has a Union Flag in the canton and the arms of Trinity House in the fly, azure, a cross gules between four ships of three masts under full sail all proper. On each sail, pendant and ensign, a cross gules and each quarter representing a sea piece. The flag is made of machine-sewn, synthetic fibre bunting with a cotton hoist.
Trinity House is the general lighthouse authority for England, Wales, the Channel Islands and Gibraltar and is also a pilotage authority and charitable organisation. The ensign is worn by all the Corporation's vessels, their lighthouses, Trinity House itself and by district depots in addition to the burgee.
