Sledge, Load (display)
Load in a canvas cover pack for display. Used on Nares' Arctic Expedition 1875. Five man McClintock sledge. Metal shod, wooden runners of jointed construction reinforced with copper pins. Cross bars lashed to runners with raw hide. Netting at each end of the sledge with a canvas cover in the middle. Carved on sledge: "B SATELLITE SLEDGE DIS".
