Scale: circa 1:4. A model of a rounding and drilling machine made in metal. The machine is mounted on a platform supported by four architectural brass columns inclined at an angle of about 80 degrees and the working components are made in brass and steel. The model consists of a crown saw and drill working in its centre. Two flakes are shown, one of which is being drilled, the other is used for demonstration purposes. The model is used for cutting the flakes of lignum vitae round and drilling a hole in their centres for the reception of the coak which forms a working bush for the iron pin of the block. The flakes are held in the circular jaws between the saw and the drill and a lever works both the saw and drill allowing the flake to be cut and drilled at the same time. The rectangular mahogany baseboard has bevelled edges and a small circular shaped hole at the centre. On baseboard: 'F' and 'No 41 Div B Class 14'.
