Figurehead of HMS 'Hastings' 1819

Model of the figurehead of HMS 'Hastings' 1819 - the original now preserved at Merseyside Maritime Museum. The model cast in pewter and mounted on an ebonized wood base was made to commemorate the centenary of the shipbuilders C.W. Kellock & Co, in 1920. On plates on the base: 'MODEL OF FIGUREHEAD OF H.M.S. HASTINGS. THE LAST OF THE WOODEN WALLS OF OLD ENGLAND. THE ORIGINAL BEING IN THE LIVERPOOL SHIPPING SALEROOM OF C.W. KELLOCK & CO', '1920 KELLOCKS CENTENARY 1920', 'WITH THE COMPLIMENTS OF C.W. KELLOCK & CO. LONDON & LIVERPOOL.'
