Medal commemorating the Spanish fleet captured at the Slaak, 1631. Obverse: Prince Frederick of Orange on horseback (right), a town in distance. Exergue: 'DEN PRINS VAN. ORANGIE, ONZEN HELD VAARDICH, STRYD . VOOR 'T VADERLAND ENDE VRYHEID WAARDICH.' (The Prince of Orange our hero fights for the mother country and liberty, with courage equal to the end in view.) Scroll: 'CVM PRIVI'. Reverse: Plan of the naval action with the names of the vessels engaged, inscription on a cartouche below 'GOD . WAS . ZYN . VOLCK . DE . 13 DN . SEPTEMBER . GEDAGHTIGHEN BRACHT . TOT . NIET 'TVYANS VLOOT . OVER . DE . SEILEN 80 . 1631' (God remembered his people on 13 September, and destroyed the enemy fleet of more than 80 sail).
