Legend: 'TANDEM . BONA . CAVSA . TRIVMPHAT . 1589' (At length, the good cause triumphs). Reverse: Young birds in a nest defending themselves against a bird of prey. Legend: 'SI . NON . VIRIBUS . AT . CAVSA . POTIORES' (If not in strength, yet in our cause more powerful). Inscription: 'BELV NECESS' (Necessary war).
