Medal commemorating the Battle of the Four Days, 1666 and Admiral Cornelis Evertsen (1610-1666). Obverse: Bust of Admiral Evertsen (three-quarter right) supporting tritons holding a wreath over his head, trophies on either side. On a scroll below (incuse): 'CORN . EVERTSEN . ADMIRAAL . V . ZEEL' (Cornelius Evertsen, Admiral of Zeeland). Legend: 'HEER EVERTS MET TRIOMF OP 'T BED VAN EER GESNEEFT . ALDUS IN 'T SILVER DOOR DE KUNST VAN MULLER LEEFT. AO . 1666 den 14. Junii' (Evertsen, dead in triumph on the field of honour, yet lives in silver through the art of Müller). Reverse: A naval engagement, starboard quarter view of two vessels in the foreground, a sunken wreck below. Legend (incuse): 'HIER STRYCKT HET BRITSCH GEWELT VOOR' NEDERLANT DE VLAGH DE ZEE HEEFT NOIT GEWAEGHT VAN ZULK EEN' ZWAEREN SLAGH' (Here the English forces strike their flag to the Dutch.
