Ao. 1673, out 26 Jaren'. (In memory of Jonkheer John, son of Paul Van Gelder, Captain dead on the bed of honour, 26 Aug. 1673, aged twenty-six years). This example is struck from a different die from the rare original ones at the Hague and British Museums, since the lettering is slightly different, and a large flag appears at the masthead of the vessel which is not in the original medal.
