Reverse: Naval action, French ships in flames, one blowing up; in the foreground a lion and a unicorn wresting a trident from a cock. Legend: 'IMPERIVM . PELAGI . NOBIS' (To us belongs the empire of the sea). Exergue: 'INCENSA . GALL[ORUM] . CLASSE ANG[LI] . ET . BAT[AVI] . VICTORES MDCXCII' (The French fleet burnt; the English and Dutch victorious 1692). This is a satire on the French losing the command of the sea.
