Medal commemorating the Expedition to Vigo Bay, 1702. Obverse: Bust of Queen Anne draped (left). Legend: 'ANNA . DG . MAG . BR . FR . ET . HIB . REGINA'. Reverse: Hercules with his foot on the dragon arresting a French soldier (left) attempting to carry off the Golden Fleece. Legend: 'NON DOLO NEC ARTE SED APERTO MARTE' (Not by deceit nor by stratigem but by open war). Exergue: 'MDCCII'. Sir George Rooke as Hercules, or Jason under the form of Hercules destroys the Spanish dragon and rescues the Golden Fleece.
