Obverse: Peace, crowned, locking the door of the Temple of Janus inscribed: 'ANNO MDCCXIII'; below (right) War in chains, (left) Mercury holding a scroll, inscribed: 'EUROPAE PAX REDDITA', symbolic of Commerce. Exergue: 'TRAIECTUR'. Reverse: Europe, an olive branch in her right hand, and a cornucopia in her left, sitting on the sea-shore, ships in the distance. Exergue: 'EUROPA'.
