Reverse: Inscription, 'MOREA PLATANI FOLIO SIMILIS . IAM LAURU PALMISQ . ORNAT VENETUM LEONEM : PATRASSO . LEPANTO . VALIDISSIMIS URBIBUS . ET DUOBUS CASTRIS DARDANELLI XXIV . HORARUM SPATIO . QUAE SAECULI GESTA VIDEANTUR A TURCIS RECEPTIS D.14 24 ET 15 25 IUL . M . DC . LXXXVII.' (Morea like the leaf of a plane tree thus decorates the Venetian lion with laurel and palm, the strong cities of Patras and Lepanto having been captured from the Turks in twenty-four hours 14-24 and 15-25 July 1687, may these deeds be famous for ever).
