Obverse: A sailor, a paddle inscribed with the arms of the Netherlands in his right hand, leaning on a pedestal hung with the arms of Russia (centre), Sweden (right), Denmark (left), shipping. Legend: 'PROC[ERUM] : SCOP[US] :BONO[RUM] : VOT[UM] : REIPU[BLICAE] : NERV[US].' Reverse: Inscription, rays above. 'DE KOOPVAARDY GETERGT DOOR BRITSCHEN EUVELMOED : BIND EEN NEUTRAALE BAND OM NEERLANDS VRYEN HOED 1781.' (The mercantile marine, tormented by the British intrepidity, ties a neutral bond about the Netherlands' cap of liberty.)
