Medal commemorating the outbreak of the Fourth Dutch War, 1781. Obverse: Netherlands, standing, a lion behind her, showing a shield to Amsterdam, seated, a dog (England) biting at her shield below. Legend: 'OPE DEI ET CVRA PATRVM 1781.' Reverse: Within four festoons, inscription, 'OCH, DAT DER VADREN EEN DRAGT S'BAND BESTENDIG BLYVE IN NEDERLAND, DAN SLAAN WY T' ROOFSIEK ALBION VAN DE OP' TOT DE ON DER GANG DER ZON.' (Oh! may the bonds of union of our ancestors remain steadfast in the Netherlands, because in that case we shall beat rapacious Albion from sunrise to sunset.)
