Obverse: Peace with a cornucopia at her feet, holding scales and an olive branch, seated on a cloud; a cherub with a club, capped, in his left hand, standing at an altar below; Neptune in a car (left) and ships in the distance. Legend: 'SIC POTENTI JUSTITIAE PLACITVMQVE PARCIS.' Exergue: 'PAX TERRA MARIQVE AMBIAN FACTA XXV . XXVII . MART . MDCCCII.' Reverse: Inscription, 'AVSPICE DEO O . M. VNIVS HEROIS VIRTVTE ET CONSIL . VICTORIBVS GALLIS, POST INNVMERA, AD RHENVM, DANVBIVM, PADVM, TIBERIM, PRAELIA, EVROPAE OPTATAM NIMIS DIV PACEM REDDIDIT, EFFRENEM LICENTIAM DOMVIT, JVSTAM LIBERT . STABILIVIT . RELIGIONI DECVS RESTITVIT.' Inscription relates how after innumerable battles on the Rhine, Danube, Po and Tiber the long-desired peace had been restored to Europe, licence curbed, liberties and religion re-established.
