Between them four statues, men in armour, labelled below as 'RVSSEL, ASHBY, DELAVAL, ALLEMONDE.' Reverse: Fame and Victory, with wreath and naval trophy, supporting a tablet; History and Time, below, inscribing the lost ships of France. Inscription: 'VOTA ORBIS . CLASS . GALL . AB . ANG . ET .
