Obverse: Bust of King William III (right) in a long wig and armour, draped, lion's head on the breast; embroidered mantle fastened with brooch on shoulder. Legend: 'WILHELMVS . III D . G . ANG . SCO . FRANC . ET . HIB . REX .' Reverse: A rock in centre, stern view of British flagship (left) French flagship sinking (right); a sun in high heaven over the former, a setting sun behind the latter. Legend: 'SOL . ORIENS . FUGAT . OCCIDENTEM.' (The rising sun [of William] puts to flight the setting sun [of Louis].) Exergue: 'D . 19/29 MAY . (rose) MDCXCII.' Only known in lead. Probably the work of an inferior artist who copied the work of others and signed D.S.
