Medal commemorating the capture of Åbo, 1713. Obverse: Bust of Czar Peter I, laureate, in armour and cloak (right). Legend: 'PETRVS . ALEXII . FIL . D . G . RVSS . IMP . M . DVX MOSCOVIAE.' (Peter, son of Alexis, by the grace of God, Emperor of the Russians, Grand Duke of Moscow.) Reverse: Neptune with his trident aloft standing in his sea car bidding farewell to Hercules, armed with a club. Legend: 'TERRA SISTERE PETITA. OVID.' (They stop at the land of their choices.) Exergue: 'AD ABVM FINLANDIAE MDCC XIII . D . 8 . SEPT.' (Near Åbo in Finland, 8 September 1713.) A copy after Gouin.
