Medal commemorating Admiral Henrik af Trolle (1730-1784). Obverse: Head of Admiral Trolle (right), within pearled border. Below, on right, the Star of Knight Commander of the Order of the Sword. Legend: 'TROLLE'. Reverse: An antique rudder placed upright between two dolphins, inscribed above, '1780.' Edge (stamped): 'GIFVEN 1784 AF AMIRALITETET.' (Conferred by the Admiralty.)
The medal was designed by Carl August Ehrensvard, to be handed out at a event commemorating admiral Henrik af Trolle, on 30 december 1784. The year 1780, inscribed on the reverse, was when Trolle was appointed General Admiral. Silver coins were given to officers, bronze coins were to able seamen and the such.
