Medal commemorating Admiral Fredrik Henrik af Chapman (1721-1808). Obverse: Head of Admiral Chapman with long hair (right). Legend: 'FREDR . HENR . AB CHAPMAN VICE-AMIRALIS EQV . TORQV . O . VAS.' (Knight Commander of the Order of Vasa.) Reverse: A hull under construction. Legend: 'FAMAM FERET PER ORBEM.' (It shall carry his fame through the world.) Exergue: 'SOCIO ACAD . R . SC . STOCKH . MDCCCVIII'. Admiral Chapman, an Swedish naval architect of English parentage, was appointed Admiral Superintendent of Karlskrona dockyard.
