Medal commemorating Admiral César, Duc de Vendôme (1594-1665). Obverse: Bust of Admiral the Duc de Vendôme with long hair, in a collar and armour, mantled (right). Legend: 'CESAR DVC DE VANDOSME PAIR GRAND MAISTRE CHEF.' Reverse: A coat of arms with three fleur-de-lis and a baton in the centre charged with three leopards surrounded by the collars of two orders, with a coronet above, the whole resting upon two crossed anchors. Legend: 'ET SVRINTENDANT G[E]N[ER]AL DE LA NAVIGATION ET COMMERCE DE FRANCE.' (continued from obverse).
