Used on Nares' Arctic expedition 1875. Belonged to Lieutenant L A Beaumont, HMS "Discovery". Abandoned during retreat if H M sledge "Sir Edward Parry" along the North Coast of Greenland in 1876. Recovered by Dr Peter Dawes at Repulse Harbour, Nyeboes Land, North Greenland 10 August 1966.
