Obverse: The arms of Admiral Duc de Montmorency, coronet above, surrounded by two collars of orders. Legend: 'HH . DD . MONTMOR . MAGR . EQVITV . ET . ADM . FRAN .' (Henri, Duc de Montmorency, Master of the Horse and Admiral of France.) Reverse: Two crossed anchors, a sword above (point upward) entwined by a snake; clouds on either side. Legend: 'ET . CASTRIS . ET . CLASSIBVS . IMPERANT.' (They command both the camp and the fleet.) Exergue: '1614.'
